関於上海會議特刊後續發行的说明

Dear Friends,

我荣幸地告知您, 首届中華大族谱文化國際交流与协作會議已在上海勝利召開.

(十月十九至二十一日). 这是由中華大族谱协會(DAZUPU),和上海新民晚报及上海社会科学院联合主办,并得海内外多家企业,民间组织和团体支持的一次盛会. 六十多位专业或非专业的族谱工作者出席.他们来自美国,加拿大,中国大陆和台湾. 他们中既有用传统方法研究族谱的工作者,更有开始使用电脑和互联网技术研究族谱的工作者. 这是中国族谱研究工作史上难得的一次有如此特色的會議.

We are pleased to inform you that the First DaZhongHua Family Tree International Conference was successfully held from October 19^th to the 22^nd at Yanan Hotel, Shanghai China. The conference was initiated and organized by the DaZhongHua Family Tree Development Association (DAZUPU), co-hosted by Xinming Evening News Journal in Shanghai and the Research Center of Chinese Tradition at Shanghai Social Science Institute, operated by Shanghai Dongchi Business Management Company, and supported by many organizations and individuals who are either specialized or interested in genealogy. Over sixty specialists in the study of genealogy or technology to digitalize traditional genealogical materials attended the conference. The attendees came from USA, Taiwan, and many places within Mainland China.

这次會議非常成功,内容十分丰富.上海社会科学院的机关刊<社会观察>专门为其出版了这份精彩的特刊. 内容不仅有上述专家和”非专家”的发言, 还有十个姓氏的世系,非常珍贵. 来自台湾的席老(席瑜)为其作的序尤其感人. 不可不读. 可惜由於经费不足,该特刊只印了三千本. 除与会代表外, 我们无法公开发行. 唯有用作宣传物, 鼓励更多的社会支持与赞助, 以求尽快筹集必需的资金, 加速我们的工作, 早日建成这个造福子孙后代,为了整个民族的中華大族谱.

The presentations at the conference were given not only by experts on genealogical research or computer technology in system development and data management, but also by representatives of families that keep excellent records of their family tree. The speeches given by the specialists were so valuable that the Journal of Society Observation decided to publish a special issue for the conference. It is rich in information, with pictures, and ZuPu materials for 10 families, the longest history of which has more than 100 generations. The prelude of the special issue was written by Xi Yu from Taiwan, the honorable Chair of Chinese Cultural Development Association. The contents include scholarly papers by experts in genealogy or in technology development, the view points of scholars, and the display of family trees.
